Questions families actually ask
What happens to our photos if we stop paying?
Nothing bad. Your album goes read-only, and nothing is ever deleted for not paying. Every name, date, and story is already written into the photo files themselves, and the full-quality export stays free. Your photos and stories are never locked up.
Do my relatives need accounts or passwords?
No. You enter their email, they get a link, they tap it, and they're in. Every time. Their answers are saved under their own name automatically.
My relatives aren’t tech people. Can they really use it?
Yes. It was built for exactly that relative, with big buttons and plain words. No apps, no passwords - if she can open an email, she's in. And if typing is hard, she can answer by voice, in her own words.
What if two relatives remember it differently?
Both stay. Each answer is signed by the relative who gave it, and one never overwrites the other. If Grandma Rose remembers the lake house and Uncle Lou remembers the cabin, the photo keeps both versions. Nobody gets outvoted.
Is the face matching private?
Yes. It runs only inside your family’s album and never looks across families. When a face isn’t certain, it’s set aside for a person to confirm, never guessed. None of it is used to train anything.
Do you ever edit or change our original photos?
Never. Your uploads are stored byte-for-byte as they arrived. Web copies are made for fast viewing, and the export writes every name, date, and story into the copies you download. The picture itself is untouched.
Can relatives add their own photos?
Yes. Anyone you’ve invited can contribute photos. They arrive as “pending” and nothing appears to the family until you approve it. One tap approves them all, with an undo.
What kinds of photo files can I upload?
JPG, PNG, and iPhone HEIC. Big scans are fine. Originals are stored at full quality.
How do I reach a person if something goes wrong?
The contact page goes straight to us - a real person reads every message, usually the same day. Export help, billing questions, or reporting something that shouldn’t be in your family’s album all land in the same place.
I haven’t scanned anything yet. Where do I start?
You can start tonight without scanning a thing: photos already on your phone, in Google Photos, or in iCloud come in with one tap. For the prints, any scanning service or a phone scanning app works; we’re not affiliated with any of them. A folder of JPGs is two minutes from your family seeing it.
Can I give it to my mom or dad as a gift?
Yes. You pay, you do the setup, you upload the scans and invite the family. Your mom or dad just opens an email link into an album that is already filling up; no account, no password, no card on their side. If you’d rather the album be theirs outright, you can transfer ownership to them any time, and nothing is lost when you do.
Can I search for a story if I only remember a feeling of it?
Yes. Type it the way you remember it: ‘the lake house summer’ is plenty. The album looks through every answer and every note your family has written.
